Hi Norm,

First, Welcome to the Steelmark Forum!

No, there is no date yet. During the last correction phase, we had some disagreement on spelling in the English version, such as color vs. colour. In the end, Billy decided on the more golbal British English usage. Therefore, we needed to go back and review the document again. I would *expect* that the document would be complete in February. Additionally, Billy wants to review the document after layout, which is really not customary, but it is his book. This will add an additional 4 weeks to the publication date. We should have the book out around May of 2004.

Best regards,
Mike

Hello Mike,
Do you know when the book "the Psyche" will be available to buy in english?
I heard 8 months ago that it had already been translated.

Hello Claes,

Well, there is a simple and complex answer to your question. Of course the simple answer is, “No, we do not know when the Psyche will be available in English.”

Yes, a translation does exist, but we do not have the resources to complete the process. You have brought up a good and commonly asked question. Here are some of the reasons and issues associated with such an endeavor:

1. Translations from one language into another are never exact. In fact, you could provide text to five different translators and receive five different translations. Each of the translators have a different background in culture, upbringing, intelligence, religious beliefs, level of understanding, etc, etc, and therefore render different translations. So the first challenge is to obtain the best and most accurate translation available. Translation is not cheep. In fact, Steelmark paid $4000.00 to have Through Space and Time - A photo journal of "Billy" Eduard A. Meier (Photobook) “professionally” translated and it was still filled with many, many errors. This translated text has been through 3 corrections in Switzerland and 4 corrections by Steelmark. It takes many, many months of hard work and study to work out the finer details in order to convey the correct meaning.

2. Another reason has to do with our work load. Myself and the other two partners of Steelmark have regular, full-time jobs in order to support our livelihood. As for myself, I also have 2 young kids, 4 and 6, that demand much of my time as a father. In addition to my regular 8-5 job and my Steelmark work I am also an officer in the FIGU Society USA. Sometimes I feel like I live in 4 completely separate lives simultaneously. It is very stressful. My two partners are in the same situation. We simply do not have the time to do anything more.

3. Another reason is money. From a financial standpoint, Steelmark is very poor. All of the money the company makes goes back into translations and new publications. The cost to print just ONE book, such as And Still They Fly, is more than $20,000.00.

4. So, in order to get just one of Billy’s books to print it takes – a translation that has been worked and refined multiple times by 3 – 4 people - it takes a publishing company that will not alter or edit that text and has the capability to publish and distribute the book – and finally it takes a lot of money. All of these aspects, plus many that I have not mentioned, must come together at the same time in order for it to work.

I hope this has answered your question.

Best regards,
Mike

Thankyou Mike for your very detailed answer.
Now I realize better how much time and effort is involved.
I admire and appreciate your efforts and those of all others working with and for FIGU.

4000$ to translate the photo book?, if that is not a typo I find it rather inexpensive. Now, my opinion is that putting these books in pdf format would allow you to sell them cheaper, make more profit and achieve greater and faster distribution among people, especially among the "information elite". Physical book could still be sold but on a much smaller scale, thus dramatically cutting the cost of operation.

It is also my opinion that the hundreds witnesses, photos, sound, videos and metal samples ' analysis reports should be made available too. Along with that, a way should be set up for people to verify these informations, either by having the differents people (Marcel Vogel, and co) who have analyzed the proofs ackowledging their finding on their websites or allowing people to e-mail them to see if the proof is for real. This, I believe, is something that would efficiently propel the meier case into public awareness.

Anywoo, those are my current ideas about that.

Dear Nick m,

Thanks for the ideas. Actually, we have looked into electronic publishing and continue to evaluate new avenues of media and distribution. Thank you for the encouragement.

You also have some good ideas with website distribution. Unfortunately, we do not have the resources at this moment do start any new projects. However, I might suggest you look into this possibility. You could set up a website detailing the scientific information. I think that would be useful.

Best wishes,
Mike Whelan

Hi Mike,

Glad to know that all seems to be coming together with all the publications and also the coming book of Photos. FIGU is doing a great job and as you mentioned a while ago about taking this all the way to the 800 yr fulfillment period, good things come along in our universe through a long period of growth. The mission shall go on my friends!!!..

Best regards,

Jay

Hello Nick m,

You should contact FIGU - Switzerland as they have a lot of the information you will need. Also, you should get permission from Billy before starting such a project. Their email address is: info@figu.org

Dear Matt,

Well, I own you an apology. Brenda called me today and asked me about Through Space and Time book. I was initially curious about her request because that is not normally a question she would ask. She told me that Matt Hurley said he had written me an email and I had not responded. So, I gave her the answer (late July) and then felt really bad.

So I wanted to say, “I’m sorry” for not responding. I get so many emails a day that yours got overlooked. We, (the FIGU Society) sometimes have to gently nudge each other once in a while.

By the way, how was your visit to Switzerland?

Best regards,
Mike Whelan
